How Can I Contact YakStudios?
You can contact us by e-mail, phone, or snail mail. Our contact information is on our contact page.

I need something designed quick. Can you help me?
Yes, we can usually accommodate these critical projects, depending on how busy our work schedule is. If we have to interrupt another client's project already in the pipeline we reserve the right to add an additional 50% - 100% to the final price of the critical project.

Who owns the copyright for work YakStudios has done for me?
We reserve the right to hold the copyrights of our work, you may have the option of obtaining exclusive copyrights upon completion of project, at YakStudios discretion.

What happens after my website/project is finished?
After final payment has been received the website will be published, or your designs released to you for printing. At your request, we will provide the electronic files on a CD or by e-mail. We may also keep a copy of your project on file for later updates or in case you lose your copy.

Can I add other services to my design package?
Sure can, let us know what you want. You decide what your budget can accommodate and we'll work with you.

Hey, I changed my mind, I need THIS done instead!
After the initial design agreement any requests for changes or additional services are charged extra and must be approved by our designer. All requests must be made by E-mail before 12:00pm in order to be processed the same business day. After 12:00pm requests will be reviewed next business day.

How long does it take to finish a basic website?
Depends on what you ordered, but typically for a 5 page website it may take a couple of days to 1 ^1/2weeks. More heavier designs and website layout it may take from a couple of weeks to a month. Remember that it also depends on how fast you work with us by providing all the necessary information such as text, your logo, and any other information that our designers ask of you electronically.

What do you mean, provide content electronically?
When we come together and discuss your design needs, all information that you want in a brochure or website must be provided to us electronically in an easy to understand layout. Things that typically a designer asks of the client, textual content, company logo, company images, etc. This really helps things run efficiently as our designers don't have to physically type and proof-read 10-20 pages worth of material. It also helps that we have a written references of your content/instructions to look back too at any moment.

I ordered a website, now I need a brochure, business card, and letterhead, is that included?
No, each product is separate. If you need any additional products or services let us know and we can include them on the same bill.

I changed my mind about my order, can I get a refund?
Depending on our agreement. We require a deposit, deposits are not refundable and client will be billed for all work done up to the moment of cancellation. Other than that you'll receive your money back.

Graphic Design Questions

What is graphic design?
Graphic design includes business cards, brochures, magazine ads, flyers, etc.
The term "graphic design" can refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. Various methods are used to create and combine symbols, images and/or words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. A graphic designer may use typography, visual arts and page layout techniques to produce the final result. Graphic design often refers to both the process (designing) by which the communication is created and the products (designs) which are generated.

How long will it take for my graphic design project completion?
It really depends on what and when you have ordered and the amount of projects we have in our pipeline. An estimate for Brochures and Magazine Ads may take between one or two weeks, while business cards and logos may take up-to a week. Contact us to find out when we can complete your project.

I need to print, do you guys offer that?
Why not get your materials designed and printed in one stop? We will be more than happy to serve all your printing needs. Contact us for a quote and we will certainly try to give you the lowest price.

Do you offer free business cards?
Yes we do. Visit our gallery of free predesigned business cards, choose your favorite, and we'll have it printed. This service is only available if we print them for you.

I need a logo created, can you do that?
Yes we can. We can create a logo that fits your company's identity.

Website (Web) Design Questions

What is Web Design?
"Web design" is a process of conceptualization, planning, modeling, and execution of electronic media content delivery via Internet in the form of technologies (such as markup languages) suitable for interpretation and display by a web browser.

What is a website?
A web site is a collection of information about a particular topic or subject. Designing a web site is defined as the arrangement and creation of web pages that in turn make up a web site. A web page consists of information for which the web site is developed. A web site might be compared to a book, where each page of the book is a web page, it may also be virtual business card, flyer, ad, catalog, or our favorite... a virtual brochure!

Why do I need a website?
- Website works for you 24/7, 365 days a year, that means your clients or customers have access to your business at all times. Imagine posting frequently asked questions online, where customers can answer their own questions, saving you time and money on phone service.
-A website is also your best salesperson, imagine a salesperson that virtually never shutdowns or needs breaks. You are open for business 24/7 year round.
-Your website is where you customers and potential customers learn more about your business, what you offer and why you are different from your competition.
- Imagine if your competition already has a website, that already speaks loudly to your current and potential customers, your business image is at stake.

My business is too small for a website, is it worth it?
Is it worth growing? Is more business good? Is exposure to the world worth it? We think so! A small business can greatly profit from a website in many ways.
-You can create a much larger/serious image of your business than it really is.
-An online presence already puts you in a new category from your competitors who don't have one. Increasingly, in a world where companies are turning to the web to find more information about their potential partners, or clients a professional looking website will make you look really good and project an image of a much larger operation.

Are websites cost effective?
Yes! Imagine that salesperson that is working for you 24/7. Imagine it as a virtual concierge dispensing information to your visitors, you don't have to print brochures or flyers, they are downloaded and printed by your customers. In fact, a website is much more cost effective than a listing in your local yellow pages, not to mention cheaper.

How long does it take to build my website?
Well it really depends on the size of your project and how "heavy" the design will be. Things such as copywriting of text, editing of photos or graphics takes a lot of time, not to mention if there are many pages with lots of content or accessories.
Generally our estimated turnaround time is 2-3 weeks for a basic website, 4 weeks for a larger website, and for advanced websites that include forums or any other services 1-2 months. Workloads change and it may be even quicker.

I don't have any images for my site, what should I do?
We literally have access to millions of photos, images, and graphics from various photographers and artists. Generally there is a price for each image or a set of images and we will obtain them. You may also hire a photographer to take your shots, we can help with that too, let us know and we will send our photographers or refer you.

I don't know what domain name to choose, help!
Generally you want a domain name that fits your business. It's a good idea to have a domain name that is your business name, for example Anna's Bakery should have a domain name of www.annasbakery.com. Often times good domain names are already chosen by someone who is reselling them, we feel that isn't really fair, but they do it anyway. You can hire us and we will research all the name options for you and check whether they are available to register, or negotiate for them. We can even check if your DBA or fictitious business name is available.

My website needs a facelift.

How many pages is a typical website?
It all depends on what you need, or better yet what your clients need when they visit your website. Typically 5 pages for a basic site is enough, something like Home, About Us, Contact, Product (services), Updates. A website may also have a Privacy Policy or User Agreement page. It is very important to leave abundant whitespace on your website, break up information into easy to read paragraphs, and sections across your website, adding pages if necessary. Otherwise your visitors will be overwhelmed with too much information, this is one of the key reasons why people leave websites.

I don't know anything about Hosting or Domain Registration, can you help me?
Of course we can, you have enough to worry about, let us deal with these issues and you'll sleep easier at night, we promise!

How do we design your layout?
We analyze the information we collected from you, research your industry/market, visit your competitors websites. We may go back and forth with a few ideas until finally we come up to one that is exciting. We will build an initial mockup, present it to you, after approval we'll start designing your site, making any necessary changes along the way.

Great, I have a website but how do I get people to visit?
First, tell everyone about your new website, remember that word of mouth is a great tool. Second, people find your website through search engines, in order for that to happen a website needs to be submitted to search engines on a regular basis. This is a separate service that we offer.

Are there any continuing costs for a website?
Yes, there is always a minimum annual cost of hosting your website, email, and domain registration. If your website has any other services incorporated, such as forums or e-commerce solutions then additional annual fees will apply.
